Built around a mid-tempo Afrobeats groove, “Hold U Down” serves as a collaborative track from Nigerian artist FOLA’s 2026 sophomore album, 9, featuring British-Nigerian singer Darkoo.
This track establishes a fresh creative alliance for FOLA, whose lyrical themes frequently center on romance and intimate connections. Darkoo delivers a complementary vocal performance, while FOLA continues to refine the melodic style that anchors his musical identity.
Production duties are handled by Cole and SBThaProducer, who set the track at a steady pace of 84 BPM. This unhurried tempo complements FOLA’s signature R&B-infused delivery, maintaining a smooth and relaxed sonic atmosphere throughout the recording.
