Nigerian indigenous rap heavyweight Kolaboy is back with a deeply personal and culturally rich body of work. His brand new 13-track album, “Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life,” officially released via Odia Records Limited, bridges the gap between his strict religious upbringing and the raw, street-certified rhythm of modern Igbo rap.
A Personal Foundation Rooted in Secret Rhymes
The title of the project is more than just a catchy phrase; it is a direct nod to Kolaboy’s formative years. Growing up with a devoted mother who practiced the stringent tenets of the Deeper Life Bible Church, a young Kolaboy found himself balancing spiritual obligation with creative instinct. He famously recounts secretly sketching out rap bars under the guise of taking notes during intense church sermons – a hilarious and rebellious paradox that ultimately birthed his love for storytelling and music.
Heavy-Hitting Collaborations & Indigenous Flow
At its core, the album relies heavily on Kolaboy’s trademark Igbo-rooted rap style, offering a masterclass in rhythm, cadence, and vernacular lyricism. However, he doesn’t carry the weight of the project alone.
The 13-track LP features a carefully selected roster of guest artists, including:
- Evado
- Paddy K
- Rabbai
- YungKeb
- REF Music
- MOEC
- Jeriq
- Aguero Banks
- Hugo P
- Morravey
- Hynezz
Rather than crowding the soundscape, these features add distinct textures and varied voices to the record while keeping the spotlight firmly fixed on Kolaboy’s narrative arc.

Expanding the Blueprint
As a full-length studio project, “Nwa Nwanyi Deeper Life” gives Kolaboy the breathing room he needs to showcase his artistic range. Moving beyond standalone singles, the album cements his growth as a conceptual storyteller who can effortlessly marry personal vulnerability with heavyweight street anthems.
