Drawing inspiration from his football-themed persona, Nigerian singer FOLA presents 9, his sophomore studio album dropping in 2026 as the successor to his celebrated 2025 debut, Catharsis.
The album’s title nods to the iconic number nine striker position – a role FOLA mirrors in his knack for consistently delivering chart-topping records. Across a 14-track listing, the project features guest verses from a star-studded lineup of African music heavyweights, including Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda, and Zlatan.
FOLA noted that the tracks stem from genuine, lived experiences, crafted alongside his favorite musicians and producers. His signature melodic Afropop style, heavily layered with smooth R&B undertones, serves as the foundation for this comprehensive body of work.
