“My Type” produced by Shallythechampion, unites Nigerian vocalists FOLA and BNXN once more, adding a fresh chapter to their growing list of joint recordings featured on the 2026 studio project 9 Album.
The pair previously linked up for the remix of “Alone” and joined forces again on “Very Soon,” a track housed on the 2025 album Captain. Their collaborative streak continued with “Shamaya,” which landed on BNXN’s Still in Charge EP just prior to the arrival of this new album.
Both performers have carved out distinct spaces within melodic Afrobeats, blending contemporary R&B textures while showcasing contrasting vocal styles and delivery. Their frequent creative pairings highlight a mutual artistic synergy that has consistently yielded well-received music.

With each artist commanding strong mainstream backing across Nigeria, the release draws natural momentum from their proven partnership rather than relying solely on the excitement of a debut collaboration. It marks the continuation of an alliance that has run parallel to key milestones in both of their musical journeys.
