Alhaji Tekno makes a triumphant return with his latest record, “Press Button,” released under emPawa Africa. Produced by Young Willis, the track revisits the infectious, self-assured sound that originally propelled Tekno to superstardom. It strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and modern Afropop, anchored by a steady, mid-tempo groove and the kind of unforgettable hooks that have become his signature.
The song explores themes of autonomy and leisure, delivered with Tekno’s characteristic rhythmic ease. Thanks to Young Willis’s crisp, minimalist production, Tekno’s clever wordplay and vocal ad-libs are given the space to shine, resulting in an effortlessly “jiggy” anthem built for the club scene.
Coming off a string of high-profile 2025 collaborations, this release re-establishes Tekno as a powerhouse in the Afropop scene. “Press Button” serves as a definitive statement: when it comes to crafting hits that move the crowd, Tekno remains a master of his craft.
