Arsenal shot-stopper David Raya has revealed his long-term desire to test himself in Spain’s top flight before bringing his playing career to a close, though he maintains that his immediate focus is fully dedicated to the Gunners.
Having spent his entire professional journey in English football – progressing through Blackburn Rovers and Brentford before securing the starting spot under Mikel Arteta – the 31-year-old Spanish international reflected on his aspirations during an extended interview with Marca.
“Yes, I would love to. I would love to try out La Liga. For now, I’m very happy here [at Arsenal], but I would certainly like to experience the Spanish league… I think it’s a very competitive league. Perhaps, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I’m Spanish, and I’d love to play there – that’s for sure.” – David Raya
