Following his standout contributions to Billionboi and Shoday’s Come Kulosa, Olamide maintains his 2026 momentum with the suave, melodic new single, “Rock Me Gentle.” The track fully embraces the “soft life” aesthetic Olamide has perfected in recent years. It offers a refreshing contrast to the aggressive street-hop of his early career, showcasing an artist who is now just as comfortable sipping vintage wine as he once was leading the charge in the trenches.
“Rock Me Gentle” is built upon lush, atmospheric production, characterized by a rolling bassline and delicate, highlife-inspired guitar licks. Olamide’s vocal delivery is intentionally restrained; he delivers his verses with the quiet confidence that only a decade of industry dominance can provide. Moving away from the rapid-fire energy of the UY Scuti era, the song settles into a mid-tempo groove perfectly suited for late-night drives or sophisticated lounges.

Lyrically, the single is a masterclass in subtle romanticism. Olamide explores themes of emotional stability and the effortless nature of a peaceful relationship. Trading the boisterous metaphors of his youth for a more mature, poetic perspective on love, he emphasizes the tranquility found with a partner who understands the man behind the superstar. The track reaffirms his status as a versatile songwriter who can pivot between genres while maintaining his essential “Baddo” identity.
Distributed through the YBNL/EMPIRE powerhouse, the song is poised to dominate the airwaves, signaling yet another evolution for an artist who refuses to be pigeonholed. “Rock Me Gentle” is more than just a song; it is a sonic representation of a veteran in his prime: calm, collected, and in total command of his enduring legacy.
