Born Damilola Afolabi, Afrobeats star L.A.X initially found his footing in music as a high school rapper in the trio Flyboiz. He catapulted into the mainstream in August 2013 after dropping the smash hit “Caro.” The song’s massive success instantly caught the attention of Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment, leading to a major-label deal and earning L.A.X the “Diaspora Artiste of the Year” honor at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
