Former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has reflected candidly on his turbulent 106-day stint at Stamford Bridge, calling the experience simultaneously the greatest and most challenging period of his personal and professional life.
Rosenior, who was dismissed on April 22, 2026, after recording 11 wins from 23 matches, took aim at the intense media microscope he was placed under during his tenure. He highlighted how external narratives unfairly targeted his personal appearance, his communication style, and even his tactical instructions – such as a viral incident where he used a handwritten note to pass instructions to Alejandro Garnacho during a tough match against PSG while down to ten men.
“Any club would have been happy with such a run, but not Chelsea,” Rosenior remarked. “You get good results and you’re in the spotlight. Then, there was a kind of snowball effect in the media. They made fun of those instructions… The clothes I wore became a joke, the way I spoke too.”

What did Liam Rosenior say concerning the perceptions?
Fiercely pushing back against the perception created by pundits and tabloids, Rosenior asserted that he refuses to be viewed as a laughingstock, while questioning the rigid industry standards regarding how a modern Premier League manager is expected to dress, speak, and behave.
Furthermore, the 41-year-old manager hinted that his premature exit from West London involved complex factors extending far beyond on-pitch results, promising to share the full story when the appropriate moment arrives.
