The Los Angeles performance of Asake, a Nigerian Afrobeats artist’s 2026 US tour has been called off, according to an update on his official website. Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 6, at The Greek Theatre, the show was part of his “In God We Trust” tour.
The announcement sparked immediate debate on social media regarding why the venue pulled the plug. Some online posts attributed the decision to slow ticket movement, while fan accounts challenged that claim by asserting the show was nearly sold out beforehand. Neither the artist nor his management team has verified these rumors.
Did Asake give reasons to why he called off his 2026 Tour?
Although official sources have not given a specific reason for dropping the show, ticket purchasers were notified directly about automatic reimbursements. The notice explained that refunds will automatically be issued to original payment cards within five business days, though banks may take an extra two to three days to post the credit to accounts.
