Afrobeats titan and two-time Grammy nominee Asake has unveiled his highly anticipated fourth studio album, M$NEY, released via GIRAN REPUBLIC and EMPIRE. The album’s cover art features a striking marble sculpture of the artist by Iraqi-Dutch creator Arthar Jabar, symbolizing both Asake’s physical form and the profound cultural weight he carries in the industry.

Artistic Evolution and Sonic Depth

M$NEY serves as a powerful testament to Asake’s evolving creative spirit and unique musical lens. Spanning 13 tracks, the album begins with a live choral performance that establishes a spiritual, immersive atmosphere. This project masterfully blends global influences with traditional African rhythms, reinforcing Asake’s status as one of the most defining voices in contemporary music.

In His Own Words

M$NEY reflects my spiritual and creative evolution; it flows from a place of gratitude for the journey that has shaped me,” Asake explains. He describes the album as a fusion of diverse sonic elements—ranging from grand orchestral arrangements to high-energy dance beats—where he remains authentic while exploring new expressions born from personal growth.

The Road to Asake – M$NEY Album

The journey toward M$NEY began in early 2025 with the release of “WHY LOVE,” a hypnotic track defined by its romantic vulnerability. This was followed by the summer hit “BADMAN GANGSTA” featuring Tiakola, which cleverly sampled Amerie’s “1 Thing” amidst silky guitar riffs and saxophone melodies. Most recently, his collaboration with DJ Snake on “WORSHIP” fused spiritual themes with electronic dance production, creating a truly cross-cultural anthem.

Themes of Reflection and Resilience

On tracks like “GRATITUDE,” Asake explores the complexities of fame and public scrutiny, using jazz-tinged strings to deliver a message of staying grounded despite the noise. Similarly, “FORGIVENESS” serves as an introspective prayer, where Asake seeks grace for past mistakes. The track documents his transition from self-reckoning to personal peace, ending on a note of hard-earned clarity and growth.

A Global Legacy

Since his 2020 debut, Asake has skyrocketed to global dominance. He currently holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart (62) and reigns as the most-streamed artist on Spotify Nigeria. M$NEY arrives as the successor to his record-breaking 2025 collaboration with Wizkid, REAL, Vol. 1, further cementing his legacy on the world stage.
