The Shawki Saad fully funded PhD Scholarship 2025 at Imperial College London is now open to prospective students from Sub-Saharan Africa who have a solid academic background and a desire to address pressing issues in their area.
One exceptional PhD candidate conducting research in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the 2025–2026 academic year will be supported with this Shawki Saad fully funded scholarship.
Scholarship Criteria:
- Be ordinarily resident in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Hold a First-Class or Upper Second-Class Honours Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a numerate discipline
- Hold a Master’s level degree qualification
- Apply for a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London
- Propose a research project relevant to challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Be a new PhD applicant (not available for continuing students).
Scholarship Benefits:
- Full overseas tuition fees covered.
- Annual stipend of at least £22,000.
