JAMB reschedules 379,997 candidates to re-write 2025 UTME

JAMB has announced that 379,997 candidates will have to re-write the 2025 UTME due to problems that occurred during the exam.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, concerning the actual number of candidates that will re-write this year’s examination.

He explained that the problems were caused by a mix of human errors and technical faults, and apologized on behalf of the board. “It was a combination of human error and technology. We are sincerely sorry,” he said.

Out of the affected candidates, 206,610 are in Lagos State, while 173,387 are in the Southeast states of Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Anambra.

He disclosed that affected candidates would begin receiving text messages from Thursday, May 15, 2025, informing them of their new examination dates.

The exam retake will commence Friday May 16th. He directed them to reprint their examination slips for the rescheduled examination dates.
