The University of British Columbia (UBC) offers merit-based scholarship that automatically consider all international undergraduate applicants upon admission. The International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) recognize exceptional international students entering undergraduate programs, with awards valued between $10,000 and $20,000 per year for up to four years.
Scholarship Criteria:
- Be new to University of British Columbia, entering directly from secondary school (IMES) or from secondary school or post-secondary institutions (OIS)
- Be an international student who will be studying at University of British Columbia on a Canadian study permit (student visa)
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and extracurricular involvement
- Not be nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars award
- Apply to UBC by the admissions deadline
