Mohamed Salah is one of several Liverpool players who paid tribute to Trent Alexander-Arnold on social media after the full-back confirmed his Anfield exit on Monday.
After 20 years, played more than 350 games and 8 major trophies, Alexander-Arnold confirmed that he would be leaving Liverpool in the summer at the conclusion of his contract.
Salah found himself in the same position as Alexander-Arnold, entering the final weeks of his contract after a season-long saga. Unlike his English colleague, Liverpool’s leading scorer signed a new two-year deal.
“It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again,” Salah wrote on X beneath a quartet of images showing himself alongside his soon-to-be ex-teammate.
Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo also hailed Alexander-Arnold as a legend while Harvey Elliott gushed: “Unbelievable player! Even better guy. Trent Alexander-Arnold Enjoy it brother. Thank you!”
Dominik Szoboszlai only spent two seasons alongside the right-back but quickly forged a strong friendship. “My boy. Love you and enjoy,” he wrote.
Andy Robertson was Alexander-Arnold’s partner in crime on the opposite side of the pitch for the past 8 years. The pair boast a combined 123 Premier League assists, comfortably the most of any defender in the competition’s history. “Brother for life!!. We’ve been through it all together!,” The Scot posted.
