AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze while having a tough time at the club over bench believes the team’s ambition comes first despite his yearnings for more game time.
After AC Milan 2-2 draw against Fiorentina on Saturday, Chukwueze was tipped by an Italian newspapers to get his first start in recent times having done well off the bench lately, but he was missing from Sergio Conceicao’s starting lineup.
The Nigerian has only started 8 Serie A games recently and has started from the bench in their last eleven outings in the competition. The 25-year-old spoke to the media ahead of the match, admitting that he would have liked to play from the start as was initially expected.
“A game in which the entire group wants to fight to win the game. We know the importance of the game, but also of the path we are taking and will take in the coming weeks. We will have to remain plugged in,” the player told DAZN.

“The priority is the group and the solidity of our team, then obviously I would like to play a bit more, but the team comes first.”

He made 23 of those appearances in the league with three of his goals also in the Serie A.
